Bill Sims Jr. and daughter Chaney to play Blues Vespers

Bill Sims Jr. and Chaney Sims will perform at Blues Vespers on Sunday.

The father-daughter duo of Bill Sims Jr. and Chaney Sims will perform Sunday at Tacoma's Immanuel Presbyterian Church as part of its free Sunday concert series Blues Vespers.

With Heritage Blues Orchestra bandmate Junior Mack, the Sims' record "And Still I Rise" was nominated for the best blues recording at the 2013 Grammys.

Blues Vespers starts at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the church, 901 N. J St., Tacoma. No tickets are required. A collection is taken for the musicians.
