Tacoma house fire kills 2 dogs, displaces 3 people

UPDATE: Tacoma Fire said two pet dogs died in the fire, which was started by a barbecue on the back porch. The estimated damage is $71,500.

INITIAL POST: A fire that started on the back deck of a two-story Tacoma house Tuesday displaced three adults, according to the Fire Department.

Firefighters responded about 12:15 p.m. to a home in the 4400 block of South 73rd Street Court and saw flames coming from both floors. The blaze was doused within a half hour or so.

No one was home when the fire started, and investigators have yet to determine what sparked it.
