Tacoma-Pierce Chamber welcomes nominations for annual environmental award

Staff writerMarch 25, 2014

Nominations are now open for the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber’s 12th Annual Tahoma Business Environmental Award.

After all, Earth Day is only a few weeks away.

Targa Sound Terminal took the last year’s honors for environmental controls used at the company’s fuel distribution facility in Tacoma.

Richlite won the year before for its sustainable manufacturing processes and environmentally sound business practices.

This year’s winner might be honored for waste reduction, better air quality or any number of other factors recognizing a business “working hard to protect the environment and preserve our quality of life,” according to a Chamber release.

The deadline for nominations is April 1, and the award will be presented April 11 at a Chamber luncheon.

For questions, contact Gary Brackett at the chamber at 253-682-1720.

Nominations may be submitted here.
