6th person arrested in Lakewood drug hit

Staff writerMarch 25, 2014

Lakewood police arrested a sixth suspect Tuesday in connection to a fatal shooting that prosecutors have said was a botched drug hit.

Jaime Diaz-Solis died Nov. 12, 2012, when a group allegedly conspired to kill his roommate and cousin, a rival drug dealer, but instead shot Diaz-Solis at the pair’s Lakewood apartment in the 5300 block of San Francisco Avenue Southwest.

It was not immediately clear how investigators believe the man arrested Tuesday was involved. Lakewood police spokesman Chris Lawler said only that he was taken into custody on a warrant related to the death.

Jail records show the man is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and first-degree attempted robbery.
