Not a Seahawk: Jared Allen signs with Chicago Bears

The Bears announced this morning that they signed DE Jared Allen to a four-year deal.

According to Adam Schefter, the Bears gave Allen a “four-year, $32M deal that voids down to three years of $24M, of which $15.5M is fully guaranteed.”

That’s Michale Bennett-level money and likely more than the Seahawks were willing to spend.

Allen had visited twice last week with the Seahawks, who appeared to be the front-runner for his services next season. But, he left without a contract and decided to join the Bears instead.
