Faux Bavarian town will have faux paparazzi for 2nd Leavenworth Film Fest

Tacoma News TribuneMarch 31, 2014

The Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation receives the proceeds from the annual Leavenworth Film Festival. The foundation hopes to build a ski memorial at its historic ski area.

The second Leavenworth Film Festival, featuring outdoor and action sports movies, is Saturday at Leavenworth Festhalle.

Filmmakers will compete for $6,000 in cash awards in a festival that, according to its promotional materials, aims to “discover and showcase the best recent independent outdoor-focused short films … from underexposed filmmakers who appreciate and highlight our natural surroundings.”

The event will have a red carpet. And the town, best know for its faux Bavarian theme, will provide faux Paparazzi for the event.

Tickets are available for $8 at leavenworthfilmfestival.org. Tickets are $12 at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Proceeds go to the Leavenworth Ski Hill Heritage Foundation’s memorial project.
