Brief service to be held for man gunned down in Tacoma

Staff writerApril 1, 2014

A brief public service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday to reclaim the spot where a 19-year-old man was fatally gunned down in Tacoma last month, according to Associated Ministries.

The ceremony, called a Moment of Blessing, will honor Charles “Chucky” Williams. Williams was fatally shot March 23 after getting involved in a large fight while leaving a memorial party on Sixth Avenue.

The service will take place at the southeast corner of Sixth Avenue and Fife Street. Colored ribbons and bamboo will mark the spot. Associated Ministries aims to support the family, friends and community of homicide victims.

No one has been arrested in connection with Williams’ death.
