The Tacoma Mall will host "Caring Bunny," a photo experience for children with special needs, on April 13.
The event is designed to create a more subdued Easter Bunny experience for kids who have a hard time with sensory triggers. The mall will take steps that could include turning off in-mall music, stopping escalators near the photo set, dimming lights or eliminating other noises.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and has 30 spots. Parents or caregivers must register at tacomamallcaringbunny.eventbrite.com.
Caring Bunny was developed by Simon Property Group, the mall's corporate owner, and is guided by AbilityPath.org, a national online resource center for those in the special needs community. More than 80 Simon properties will host Caring Bunny this year, according to a news release.
