North Cascades National Park participating in sustainable transportation program

Tacoma News TribuneApril 2, 2014

Representatives from North Cascades National Park recently took part in a workshop designed to develop sustainable transportation throughout the National Park Service.

The workshop, hosted by the Denver Service Center, is modeled after the New York State Department of Transportation’s program. GreenLITES, as the NYSDOT’s program is called, is a certification program that rates projects bases on the extent to which they use sustainable ideas.

The project developers plan to have the NPS sustainable transportation tool ready for implementation in May 2015.
