Two Ashford guide services in Nepal for Everest attempts

Tacoma News TribuneApril 2, 2014

Two Ashford mountaineering guide services are in Nepal leading expeditions on Mount Everest.

International Mountain Guides and Rainier Mountaineering Inc. are guiding clients to the 29,035-foot summit.

The IMG group consists of climbers from eight countries. IMG has put 381 climbers on the summit since 1990. RMI has seven clients and three guides attempting the summit. Among them is guide Dave Hahn, who holds the record for most Everest summits by a non-Sherpa with 15.

The trips typically last 2-3 months and groups usually summit in mid-May.

Both IMG and RMI are publishing expedition blogs on their respective websites.
