Police are asking the public to help identify a man who robbed a Tacoma bank Tuesday.
He walked into a Chase Bank branch inside the Fred Meyer store at Pacific Avenue South and South 72nd Street about 6:30 p.m., and showed the teller a note in which he demanded cash and threatened violence, according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.
He ran from the store with the money and took off in a waiting car that looked like a newer-model silver four-door Nissan sedan.
He’s described as black, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5-foot-6, slender, with black hair in short braids or dreadlocks. He was wearing a dark gray T-shirt with a tiger on the front, and a brown knit beanie cap.
Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS(8477). Tips are anonymous and can result in a reward.
