Thomas Lamphere will give a free presentation on fly fishing for tiger muskie at Thursday’s meeting of the Puget Sound Fly Fishers.

Lamphere has pursued these freshwater barracuda at Mayfield, Tapps and Evergreen lakes. He will share tips on fishing for these toothy predators, as well as talk about their history in Washington, what equipment to use, how to spot them, their prey and safety procedures to protect you from their teeth.

The owner of Beach-Men Fly Tying, Lamphere works at Fish Hunter Enterprises. He began fly fishing at the age of 6 and has been tying flies professionally since the age of 18.

An optional $15 dinner is offered before the presentation and the club’s regular monthly meeting. Activities begin at 6 p.m. The meeting will be in the Tower Lanes banquet room, 6323 Sixth Ave. Tacoma.
