Singer-songwriter David Roth to play food bank benefit

Tacoma News TribuneApril 7, 2014

Singer-songwriter David Roth will be performing at Tacoma’s Temple Beth El on Thursday in a benefit for the Jackson Street Food Bank at St. Andrews Episcopal Church.

The food bank is a member of the FISH food network and serves 70-80 families (over 400 individuals) each month. All proceeds of Thursday’s show will be donated to the food bank.

Roth writes and performs his own material. His songs (“Rising in Love”, “Earth”, “Manuel Garcia”, “May the Light of Love”, “Nine Gold Medals”, “Spacesuits”, “Rocket Science”) have been performed at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, at the Kennedy Center and at Peter, Paul, & Mary concerts.

His music has even left the Earth. "Rocket Science" went up on Space Shuttle Atlantis in May 2009 for a Hubble Space Telescope repair mission.
