Pierce County Council members propose 15 shoreline amendments

The News TribuneApril 8, 2014

Pierce County Council members Monday proposed 15 amendments to their revision of shoreline policies.

The suggested changes came after a series of three community meetings on the state-mandated update to the Shoreline Master Program. Another round of three public meetings will start July 10.

The amendments address a range of concerns. One from County Council Chairman Dan Roach, R-Bonney Lake, would exempt Lake Tapps from shoreline policy revisions.

The council’s Community Development Committee continued discussion of the amendments until May 19. The council isn’t scheduled to make a decision on adopting the shoreline update until July 29.
