Spring Fair begins Thursday afternoon in Puyallup

The Washington State Fair and its rubber-duck mascot will begin welcoming South Sound residents to the Spring Fair on Thursday afternoon.

Gates open for the annual four-day event at 2 p.m. Attractions include rides, games, concerts and entertainment, and Motorsport Mayhem, complete with a monster truck show, pit parties and demolition derbies.

Among the animals on the fairgrounds, Alaskan racing pigs will entertain spectators near the Gold Gate. The piglets will scurry to the finish line all weekend long for peanut-butter cup prizes.  

The Spring Fair runs April 10-13. Hours are 2-10 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday. Visit thefair.com/spring-fair for information on tickets and other attractions.
