JobFest for young job seekers set for April 15 in Tacoma

JobFest 2014, for young adults ages 16 to 24, kicks off on Tuesday April 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the STAR Center, 3873 South 66th St., Tacoma.  

The event already has over 480 young job seekers pre-registered. Employers seeking to hire young adults are encouraged to register for free by April 14. 

“We are very excited at the interest the community has shown in providing an opportunity for our young adult workforce to connect with local employers and get hired,” stated Julie Sandstede of WorkForce Central, which is helping to organize JobFest. 

JobFest is supported by many local organizations and businesses including Metro Parks Tacoma, STAR Center, Vadis, Tacoma Community House, REACH, STEPS, Express Employment Professionals, General Plastics Manufacturing Co., Starbucks, Phoenix Protective Corp, CareerLink Pierce County, WorkForce Central and Tacoma Public Schools.
