U.S. Bank has named Tacoma native Terry Jones market president for the bank’s South Sound. She will be based in Tacoma, and will lead U.S. Bank teams serving a territory from Kent to Olympia.

Jones has been with U.S. Bank since 2006, and has worked her entire career in the Puget Sound region, according to a recent bank release. Her first job was with Rainier Bank in 1981, and most recently, she led U.S. Bank’s commercial banking team in Seattle, working with businesses with revenues between $10 million and $500 million.

“Terry is one of our top leaders at U.S. Bank, and her connection to the South Sound gives us the opportunity to deepen our support of and commitment to the region,” said Chris Heman, president of U.S. Bank in Seattle.

“It feels great to be going home,” Jones said. “There is a wonderful opportunity for growth in Tacoma and the South Sound area. The community has seen tremendous revitalization over the years. There is a diverse industry mix that drives the region’s economy, including healthcare, aerospace, manufacturing and Joint Base Lewis McChord. I look forward to identifying ways for U.S. Bank to play a role in spurring future growth.”

Jones is an active member of Junior Achievement and the Women in Business Leadership Initiative in Seattle. She plans to find opportunities to play a leadership role in the community as she settles in Tacoma.
