Lakebay man in Christmas Day crash dies from injuries

A Lakebay man whose pickup crashed into a Purdy-area ditch Christmas Day died Friday from his injuries, the State Patrol said.

Roger Simon, 66, was heading west on state Route 302 about a mile west of Purdy 12:30 a.m. Dec. 25, when the truck he was driving left the road at 82nd Avenue Northwest. The pickup hit the ditch, and landed on the passenger side.

Drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, according to a State Patrol statement.

Trooper Guy Gill said Simon died Friday at the hospital from his injuries.
