Kilmer to recognize student art at Tacoma reception

U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, is having a reception this week to recognize artwork that high school students submitted to the Congressional Art Competition. The contest is a yearly visual art contest designed to recognize and support young artists in each congressional district.

The reception is at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Tacoma Art Museum, 1701 Pacific Ave., and is open to the public. For more information, contact Rohan Shrikhande at 360-373-9725.
