Kings' Cousins gets one-game suspension

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NBA announced Monday that Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended one game for receiving his 16th technical foul of the 2013-14 season.

Under NBA rules, a player or coach is automatically suspended without pay for one game once he receives his 16th technical foul during a regular season. For every two additional technical fouls received during that regular season, the player or coach will be automatically suspended for an additional game.

Cousins received his 16th technical foul with 1:13 remaining in Sunday's win against Minnesota.

The volatile fourth-year pro will serve his suspension in the Kings' season finale on Wednesday when Sacramento hosts the Phoenix Suns.
