The naked stranger kept reaching for the woman as she frantically tried to shut the door of her Fife hotel room, court records show.

The woman heard yelling Monday afternoon and opened the door to see what was going on. She thought maybe another guest at the hotel in the 3100 block of Pacific Highway East might be scolding her children, who were playing in the parking lot.

Outside her door was W.M. Fenimore Jr., 56, of Tacoma. Pierce County prosecutors said he was naked and immediately reached for the woman, who rushed to shut the door.

Fenimore’s arm was in the way and the woman allegedly slammed the door on his arm repeatedly until Fenimore pulled it back.

The woman was “scared to death,” according to charging papers.

Police arrived and found Fenimore – who had since put on clothes – nursing his bloody arm with a towel. He told officers he had just gotten out of the shower and was chasing a woman who left his room, records show.

The woman said she was never inside Fenimore’s room and did not know him.

Fenimore has pleaded not guilty to indecent exposure and was ordered jailed in lieu of $30,000 bail.

He has prior convictions for lewd and indecent proposals to a child in Oklahoma, prosecutors said.
