Gifford Pinchot National Forest's Road 90 near Cougar to be closed during Swift Creek Bridge repair

Tacoma News TribuneApril 21, 2014

Swift Creek Bridge on Forest Road 90 in Gifford Pinchot National Forest is set to undergo repairs later this spring, the Forest Service announced Monday.

The work means Forest Road 90 will be closed at night (8 p.m.-6 a.m.) May 28-June 11. There will not be a detour route.

“We have taken all reasonable measures to assure a minimal disruption to public and commercial access to the forest along the Lewis River Road by timing the repair work after Memorial Day Holiday and closing the road only during nighttime”, Tom Mulder, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument Manager, said in a prepared satement.

The bridge is located at milepost 4.2 in Skamania County approximately 7 miles east of Cougar.
