A school bus crashed into a ditch between South Prairie and Orting Monday when a bee flew in the window and the driver tried to swat it away, State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill said.

No one on the bus, which was carrying 27 Orting School District middle schoolers, was injured.

The crash happened about 2:45 p.m. in the 13400 block of state Route 162.

A second bus took the students to the district office, to meet with their families.

The road was closed as the State Patrol investigated the crash.
