MONday’s highlights

Scott Sunitsch, a Washington State commit, pitched six innings with 10 strikeouts in a 3-2 win for South Puget Sound League South’s second-place Todd Beamer over fourth-place Federal Way. Blake Randazzo picked up his third save and Sunitsch improved his record to 2-1 on the season. Edward Peraza (2-for-3) knocked in both Eagles runs with a fourth inning double.

Leif Hansen earned a win after a three-run first inning capped by back-to-back RBI singles from Matt Anthony and Carson Barnett as Olympia defeated Narrows 4A rival Bellarmine Prep, 4-1.

Will Foley’s first at-bat for Peninsula resulted in a home run — he finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs — but it was first-place Auburn Mountainview who earned the 10-4 win over the Seahawks in SPSL 3A action. Justin Marsden, who earned the win, helped spark the Lions’ offense, finishing 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Janson Junk earned the win and Taylor Havlicek picked up the save in first-place Decatur’s 8-6 victory over visiting fourth-place Bonney Lake in a SPSL 3A matchup. Brandon Zimmerman smacked a solo home run for his only hit in the Golden Gators’ win.

Anne Kasner picked up the win for first-place Fife in the 8-2 fastpitch SPSL 2A win over fourth-place Franklin Pierce. Kasner also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run. Anna Lennox hit a two-run homer for the Cardinals.
