Congressman to visit Pierce County paving equipment manufacturer

Staff writerApril 22, 2014

U.S. Rep. Denny Heck (D-Olympia) will tour Pierce County's Carlson Paving Products plant from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday to promote a campaign to support U.S. manufacturers.

Carlson, based in Pierce County, makes paving machine equipment accessories.

The company is among U.S. manufacturers who are part of the "I Make America" campaign sponsored by American Equipment Manufacturers.

The campaign focuses on keeping U.S. manufacturers alive and growing.  The program promotes pro-manufacturing legislation and encourages exports of U.S.-made goods.
