Red Sox option OF Nava

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox optioned outfielder Daniel Nava to Triple-A Pawtucket and recalled pitcher Alex Wilson on Wednesday.

Nava has struggled this season hitting .149 with two doubles, two home runs, three RBI and seven runs scored in 17 games. The 31-year-old has split his time with the Red Sox in right field, left field, and at first base.

Wilson, who was the first pitcher from Saudi Arabia to appear in a major league game, has pitched eight scoreless innings for Pawtucket this season. Last season, he made his major league debut and went 1-1 with a 4.88 ERA in 26 games with the Red Sox.
