Unidentified person walks into Tacoma Community College class, instructor feels threatened

Staff writerApril 23, 2014

An unknown man entered a Tacoma Community College classroom Wednesday, and exchanged words with the instructor that made the teacher feel threatened, school spokesman Shawn Jennison said.

Jennison said the man didn't directly threaten the instructor, but the teacher "felt threatened by the encounter."

The incident happened toward the end of an evening class, about 7:30 p.m.

Safety officials tried to contact the suspect, but the man had fled when they arrived.

The campus advised students to walk in pairs for the night, and said safety officials could be contacted to escort students to their vehicles. The Public Safety counter can be reached at 253-566-5111.
