WEDNESday’s highlights

Tyler Knutsen and Colby Larson each finished 2-for-3 and drove in a run in support of Tanner Broom’s complete-game victory as Fife defeated 2A SPSL foe Washington, 5-1, in baseball. The third-place Trojans improved to 8-3 in league.

Jerritt Miles finished 3-for-4 with a double, and Mike Wells was 2-for-2 with a run in Franklin Pierce’s 9-1 win over 2A SPSL rival Steilacoom. John Samons (12 strikeouts) picked up the win.

Brothers Kevin and Erik Kozakowski sparked Mount Rainier Lutheran’s offense in a 14-5 victory over Rainier Christian in 1B Sea-Tac action. Kevin went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Erik went 2-for-3 with three runs and four stolen bases. He also struck out seven in six innings to improve to 2-2.

In fastpitch, SPSL North leader Tahoma (13-0) got a big day at the plate from Carley Nance, who hit a home run and finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs in the Bears’ 15-5 win over Auburn Riverside. Delaney Nelson (3-for-3) added an RBI double, and pitcher Maddie Scott earned the win.
