Interfaith prayer day event set for Allen A.M.E. Church in Tacoma

An interfaith observance of the National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday night at Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tacoma.

Associated Ministries is sponsoring the second annual interfaith event at 7 p.m. at Allen A.M.E. Church, 1223 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.

Participants will represent a wide variety of faith traditions.

Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland will read this year's presidential proclamation for the National Day of Prayer, which takes place each year on the first Thursday in May.
