Program honors several Pierce County high school scholars

The Washington Scholars Program, administered by the Washington Student Achievement Council and the Washington Association of Secondary School Principals, has recognized 147 high school seniors for their academic achievement, leadership and community service. The program honors three students from each legislative district and 49 alternates statewide.

Pierce County scholars:

Kathryn M. Draney and Paulina L. Davison, Rogers High School; Cassidy C. Forler and Alyssa A. Ricketts, Eatonville High School; Gabriel T. Carroll and Emma E. Miller, Puyallup High School; Paul C. Alvestad and Madeleine E. Misterek, Peninsula High School; Kaitlyn Hall, Emerald Ridge High School; Brennan Hartley, Bellarmine Preparatory School; Sarah H. Sachs, Foss High School; Elizabeth Joy Lewis, Benjamin J. Meade and Hee Won Pak, Curtis High School; Olivia E. Moore and Jari David Rozo L. Tamayo, Washington High School; Marjorie L. Rasmussen, Spanaway Lake High School; and Sloane S. McGowan, Bethel High School.

Pierce County alternates:

David M. Carlson, Rogers High School; Jacob Watkins, Puyallup High School; Wolfgang A. Beck, Gig Harbor High School; Angela L. Leingang, Fife High School; Molly K. Bordeaux, Bellarmine Preparatory School; and Mariah Sora Strange, Washington High School.
