Get information on your student from computer kiosks now in every Tacoma school

This month, Tacoma Public Schools installed computer kiosks in the front offices at every school in the district to provide parents access to the most sought-after student information: grades, test scores, attendance, lunch accounts and classroom websites.

After a successful month-long pilot from mid-October to mid-November, results revealed the kiosks were accessed 581 times total at Baker and Mason middle schools and at McCarver and Sherman elementary schools.

Because not every family has Internet access at home, the new kiosks aim to increase parent engagement through easy access to important information involving their child’s education.

The district plans to partner with community organizations to test kiosks in non-school locations, such as community centers, fitness facilities and after-school activity hubs.
