Big Lots opening its 12th South Sound store in Lakewood

Closeout retailer Big Lots is planning a 9 a.m. May 9 ceremony to open its 12th store in the South Sound.

The 23, 535-square foot store is located at 5401 100th St. SW. in Lakewood. The grand opening ceremonies will feature speeches by local officials and executives of the Columbus, Ohio-based discount chain.


During the ceremony, store executives will present a $1,500 check to Lakewood's Park Lodge Elementary School to support educational programs at the school.


The store will be open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. It will be part of  Big Lots' network of 1,400 closeout merchandise retail outlets.


Big Lots was founded in 1967 in Columbus and has become the nation's largest broadline closeout retailer.
