Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop' duds come to EMP

Tacoma News TribuneApril 28, 2014

They cleaned up at the Grammys and now Macklemore and Lewis are cleaning out their closets. And you'll be able to get a close-up look at their thrift shop finds at EMP Museum.

The Seattle museum is going to display several Macklemore & Ryan Lewis costumes and props in the upcoming exhibition, "Spectacle: The Music Video" opening on May 17.

The exhibit will include the fur coats worn in the "Thrift Shop" video; The Heist flag, Macklemore’s fur jacket and wolf hat from "Can’t Hold Us"; MTV “Moonman” awards; and other costumes and artifacts.

Also part of the show is an original film about the pair's creative process.

Longing for your own "Thrift Shop" couture? Look no further. Visitors will be able to put on fur coats and pose in front of the opening scene of the music video.
