Fife appoints former City Council member to fill vacancy

Staff writerApril 28, 2014

Former City Council member Barry Johnson is back in familiar territory after the council appointed him to a vacancy last week.

Johnson, one of seven applicants interviewed for the Position 3 spot, will fill the role until a successor is elected in 2015.

He previously served on the council from 1997 until 2011, and simultaneously served on the parks board and planning commission from 1994 to 1996.

Johnson takes over the position vacated by former council member Glenn Hull, who was appointed mayor in January before resigning a month later. Hull and his family recently moved to Georgia after his wife accepted a new job.
