Charter recommendations sent to Tacoma City Council

Since January, committee members have spent hundreds of hours, mostly on nights and weekends, examining Tacoma's — essentially the city's constitution. The committee will present its recommendations to the City Council in two meetings on May 6.

From there, the council has until August to decide what to send to the ballot for a November election. The council does not have to send the Charter Review Committee's recommendations to the ballot, and it can send different or modified issues to the ballot.
