A substitute bus driver was fired following a crash last week that ended with her bus in a ditch.
The crash happened about 2:45 p.m. April 21 in the 13400 block of state Route 162.
The driver received her letter of termination Friday, and did not return to work after the wreck, said Michelle Curry, superintendent of Orting public schools.
No one was seriously hurt in the crash.
State Patrol spokesman Guy Gill initially said the crash happened when the driver swatted at a bee. He said Tuesday what caused the crash is still being investigated.
“We are working closely with the prosecutor’s office to determine what direction we are going to go,” he said.
