WEDNESday’s highlights

Orting’s Trevor Cartwright struck out eight Fife batters as he picked up the win in the 4-1 victory over the Trojans in SPSL 2A baseball. Hunter Geltz had two RBIs and two stolen bases and Donovan Johnson scored twice in the Cardinals win.

Logan Christensen’s complete game helped Sumner, the top-ranked team in Class 2A, earn the SPSL title with a 6-2 home win over second-place White River. The Spartans’ offense was paced by Chase Torgison’s two RBIs and Collin Wolf’s double and two runs.

 • picked up his first win and Scott Sunitsch smacked a three-run home run to help Todd Beamer defeat Bethel, 5-1, in an SPSL contest.

Joe Wainhouse made his only hit count as he blasted a three-run walk-off home run to give Sam Dacus the win and Kentridge a 5-3 victory over Kentwood in an SPSL contest. The win gives the Chargers (12-3) shared possession of first place with Tahoma (12-3).

Maddy Rogers picked up an eight-inning win for Todd Beamer as the Titans won, 10-6, in a SPSL fastpitch road game over Graham-Kapowsin.

FossJose Ramos scored four goals to help goalkeeper Sergio Barajas cruise to a shutout as the Falcons beat North Thurston, 7-0, in SPSL 3A boys soccer.

Munassar Saleh’s 17th-minute goal proved to be enough as Alec Greenleaf picked up a shutout in Wilson’s 3-0 win over Lincoln. The win keeps Wilson (8-0-0) ahead of Foss (7-1-1) in the Narrows 3A standings.
