A police dog tracked down a man suspected of breaking into a Puyallup business Friday morning.
An employee arrived at work just after 6 a.m. and found the burglar breaking into a safe, police said. The man fled and Maverick, a tracking dog, was called to the scene in the 1600 block of E. Main Street.
Police said the dogs search caused minor interruptions on the Sounder trains Friday morning because Maverick was looking along the tracks at E. Pioneer Avenue.
The search area was large and included a swamp, police said.
After more than an hour, Maverick found the suspect hiding in a garbage can and officers arrested him.
Police said Maverick will be rewarded with a steak dinner Friday night.
