Runners galore in Sunday’s Tacoma City Marathon

News Tribune staffMay 3, 2014

Thousands of runners will take to the streets for hours — a few for some, many more for others — on Sunday for the Tacoma City Marathon.

Runners taking part in the full marathon will start at 7 a.m. at the Tacoma Narrows Airport, 1110 26th Ave. NW in Gig Harbor. Those running in the half marathon will begin at 8 a.m.

Both runs will end at the Tacoma Art Museum, 1701 Pacific Ave.

Those running the half marathon will break off the main course along North Westgate Boulevard and continue down North Narrows Drive and North Vassault Street to North 51st Street, where they’ll rejoin runners doing the full marathon.

Entry fees are $120 for the marathon, $95 for the half marathon, $40 for the 5K run, $20 for the kids race and $300 for a five-person marathon relay team.

The Tacoma City Marathon Expo will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Hotel Murano, 1320 Broadway.
