Steady rain ruins Rainiers

christian.caple@thenewstribune.comMay 4, 2014

For the seventh time in 18 scheduled home games this season, a Tacoma Rainiers game was postponed due to weather.

Tacoma’s scheduled game Saturday against the Las Vegas 51s at Cheney Stadium was wiped out due to steady rain, and will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday (weather permitting). Both games will go seven innings, with the second game beginning 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

The Rainiers are running a “throwback weekend” promotion, and will wear teal uniforms during Sunday’s first game, and green and gold Tacoma Tigers uniforms during the second game.

Tickets for Saturday’s game will be honored for both games of the doubleheader.
