Crews rescued an 84-year-old man who tumbled down an embankment Tuesday while cutting blackberries in Gig Harbor.
The man was not injured, Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One spokeswoman Nanette Tatom said.
Crews arrived on scene about 7:15 p.m. in the area of Moller Drive Northwest and Sunrise Beach Drive Northwest.
She said a high-angle rope rescue used pulleys to reach the man about 25-feet down the bank. The Pierce County Special Operations Team, the county-wide technical rescue group, responded.
Crews tried, but were not able to find his lost hearing aids, Tatom said.
