That talking dog you’ve been seeing on TV and hearing on radio commercials is doing more than sell mattresses.

Tag the Bulldog – “spokesdog” for Mattress Discounters – is also promoting the company’s recently launched charity program Good Deed Dogs, which raises awareness and funds for assistance dogs.

Plush replicas of Tag are available at Mattress Discounters outlets, with proceeds of their purchase going to  help train and make highly skilled assistance dogs available to individuals living with disabilities.

“From picking up a dime to opening a door, Caspin (my service dog) has provided me with independence I never imagined to be possible and I know our potential is limitless,” said Wallis Brozman, who has received a service dog from Canine Companions for Independence, Good Deed Dogs’ nonprofit partner. Good Deed Dogs also raises much needed funds for facility dogs, which are utilized in hospitals and special education classrooms.

Through June 29th, the charity program is raising money and awareness for Service Dogs, which are trained in over 40 commands to help people with physical disabilities or deafness lead independent and fulfilling lives. In addition to purchasing a plush Tag replica, those wanting to give back can donate in-store or online at www.mattressdiscountersdogs.com. All contributions benefit Mattress Discounters’ nonprofit partner Canine Companions for Independence.
