Peninsula School District offers help with suicide awareness

The News TribuneMay 12, 2014

More than a year ago the Peninsula School District convened a coalition of community leaders to help address a concern about youth suicide in Gig Harbor and the surrounding community.

The coalition has developed a resource guide that’s now online at ghkpsuicidepreventioncoalition.weebly.com. It was developed with funding from the Franciscan Foundation, the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation, Mid-day Rotary and Harbor Hope Network.

In addition, the community now has five presenters who can deliver a three-hour suicide awareness training at no cost to participants. For more information, contact Katy O’Neill at katymcessy@gmail.com.
