E.T. is still fighting off an infection but the walrus found the energy to take a dip over the weekend, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium officials said.

He continues to refuse food and behaves as if he doesn’t feel well, veterinarian Karen Wolf said.

The staff monitoring the 3,350-pound walrus lists his condition as guarded and will keep watching his blood work. He remains behind the scenes at the zoo.

E.T. fell ill last week with an unknown infection.
