Mount Rainier gearing up for Memorial Day weekend

There's still 13 feet of snow on the ground at Paradise in Mount Rainier National Park.

There’s still 13 feet of snow at Paradise, but Mount Rainier National Park is preparing to have many facilities open for Memorial Day weekend.

Here’s a look at what will be open:

Paradise Inn opens May 21.

Stevens Canyon and White River roads open at 8 a.m. on May 23.

Cougar Rock and Ohanapecosh Campgrounds open May 23 at noon.

Box Canyon Picnic Area and restroom and the Longmire and White River Wilderness Information Centers also open May 23.

 

Longmire’s National Park Inn is open year round.
