Clover Park High School honors fallen military members with The Arlington Project

Tacoma News TribuneMay 20, 2014

The public is invited to attend an event called the Arlington Project at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Clover Park High School, 11023 Gravelly Lake Dr. S.W., Lakewood.

The event honors fallen members of the military. It will include members of the Air Force JROTC who will participate in a formal retreat ceremony and recreation of the tomb guards at Arlington National Cemetery. Markers honoring those who have died in the Global War on Terror will be placed on the front lawn of the school through Memorial Day.

There will also be student-created memorial displays commemorating American conflicts throughout history, and a screening of the film “Taking Chance,” which tells the story of one fallen Marine’s last trip home and the officer who accompanied him.
