Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates activated closer Jason Grilli from the 15-day disabled list Friday.

Grilli had been sidelined since April 25 with a left oblique strain.

Grilli has appeared in eight games this season going 0-1 with a 4.50 earned run average, while converting four of his seven save opportunities.

To make room for Grilli, the Pirates optioned catcher Tony Sanchez to Triple-A Indianapolis.
