Police: Homicide suspect in custody

Staff writerMay 24, 2014

Police on Saturday arrested a man they had sought in connection with three shootings this month.

Bernard "Crucial" Bellerouche, 27, was in the Benton County jail after his arrest in Kennewick in an operation that included U.S. marshals and Kennewick and Federal Way police.

Federal Way police said Bellerouche shot Demario Washington, 27, to death May 7 after an argument in the 27600 block of Pacific Highway South.

Bellerouche also is considered a person of interest in two other incidents. A May 13 shootout in a Federal Way parking lot killed a U.S. Marine, George J. Gabriel, who had been on his way to visit his mother. A day earlier, a shooting in Des Moines injured at least one man.
