Fircrest police searching for bank robber

Fircrest police are trying to identify a man who robbed a bank May 20.

The man, wearing sunglasses and a black Seattle Seahawks baseball hat, walked into the Umpqua Bank in the 1300 block of Regents Boulevard about 10:40 a.m. He handed a teller a note demanding cash and “threatening violence,” according to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured.

The robber was white and in his 30s, about 6-feet-3 with a slender build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.
