Steilacoom district hopes to ease transition for freshmen

The News TribuneJune 2, 2014

The Steilacoom School District is working to make the transition from middle school to high school easier.

In March, middle schoolers were invited to a high school “future freshmen” event.

And this fall, the 2014-15 school year will start one day earlier for freshmen only. The goal is to help the 270 new Steilacoom High students become familiar with the school and set graduation goals.

“Focus on Freshman Day” will be Aug. 27.
